St. Louis nonprofit Athletes for Animals edged out H.E.R.O.E.S. Care in the final round of the Brackets For Good tournament. Athletes for Animals raised a grand total of $39,683 total raised, on top of the $10,000 prize awarded by Youthbridge Community Foundation.

To celebrate the April 10 Pacers game in Indianapolis in which Athletes for Animals was honored with a $10,000 check presentation at half time, Athletes for Animals hosted a “banner hanging” ceremony in conjunction with Tani Sushi Bistro on Tuesday, April 5.

Athletes For Animals Founder and Saint Louis Blues NHL Captain David Backes shaved his head at the event, as part of the #BackesFlowGone challenge orchestrated during the tournament to win additional donations.

Congratulations, Athletes for Animals!
